The most notable economic strengths are: Manzanillo´s Port, which for eleven consecutive years holds the first national and sixth place in Latin America in container movement; the excellent connective infrastructure that places us as one of the best communicated entities in the country; the low rate of informality of our employed population; Tecomán Valley, where one of the most profitable and productive agroindustries in México is concentrated, with national leadership in Mexican Lemon and its derivatives; the Manzanillo – El Salto gas pipeline, Jalisco, which opens a new potential industrial development without precedent in Colima and, of course, the governmental management that today is emerging as one of the most efficient and modern in the country.

Also, entrepreneurs find that Colima is the only one in the Mexican Republic to offer a Municipal Business Center in each of its municipalities, thus granting all the facilities to open a new business or undertake a new project.

Colima is the State that processes 70% of all virgin iron units, from the mines that are required for the steel industry in México.
